Big Helper

Jackson has decided that he likes to wash dishes!!

Four Wheelin'

Jackson and Thompson our four wheelin' after the storm...still in jammies!!

Tropical Storm Fay

We were prepared for a few days of rain related to Tropical Storm Fay, but ended up not having much at all. In anticipation, we had a jammie day on Saturday and just layed around watching tv and playing. We got to see this rainbow after the storm had passed!

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Charles celebrated his 39th birthday this past week! The boys were excited...especially about cake!

We had egg-free cupcakes with icing and without (Jackson doesn't like icing) and we had a wheat free cake for breakfast before Charles went to work!

The wheat free cake was quite "dense"(apparently gluten is important). I bought an allergen free cake mix for Charles' second birthday celebration and Nana's birthday. It met Thompson's approval!! He likes the icing and thinks the candle is for use like a fork!!

Nap Mats

We bought Jackson a "nap mat" in the fall of 2005 when he went to daycare for 2 whole days! He LOVES school so much this year that he is dying to stay and take a nap one day, so I got out the nap mat to show him one day. He and Thompson were so tickled with it that we had to create a mat for Thompson to rest too. Jackson found out quickly that he couldn't get up or Thompson would take over!

Thompson "reading"

Preschool

Jackson had a great first two weeks! He absolutely LOVES his teacher and his class. He is up and ready to go every morning...never a whimper! He was pretty tired his first week...crashing on the couch a few days.

Thompson always helpful would bring Jackson his Elmo while he was napping and startle him while sleeping by running a train up his arm!! He is a stinker!!

One Year Old Pictures...Finally!

Thompson had chicken pox and bronchiolitis for his first birthday, so I postponed his one year old pictures. I was waiting on him to be in just the right mood and battling ear infections for weeks on end...the right mood just never came along! He had tubes put in and thought it was the perfect time to FINALLY get his one year old pictures. Apparently, children are not cooperative at 18 months and the photographer gets them to do what they will...which in Thompson case was to cry!! He was not a happy camper!

We did get some good shots before the meltdown!

Allergy Update

We have found the most awesome allergist over here on the Eastern Shore! He is young and very current on his research. He listens and is very supportive!

Jackson visited him a few weeks ago and had some testing done. He is still very allergic to eggs and tested positive to the peanut this time. He has always reacted funny after eating peanut and with Thompson we just avoid all together, so this did not surprise us.

Thompson had his first appointment on Tuesday. I had my fingers crossed that maybe something would be negative since he was first tested at 6 months. Unfortunately, he did test positive to everything again...milk, egg, peanut, wheat, and added tree nuts. Thompson is a trooper though! He didn't whimper once during the testing or once they started to swell and itch. He takes things in stride and adapts well. He wants for different foods, but you can't miss what you don't know.

First Day of School

Jackson started K-4 on Monday! He absolutely LOVES it! He goes 5 days a week this year and is very eager to go each morning! We are very blessed to have such a kind and understanding teacher. She has a grandchild with food allergies, so she is aware of the severity and conscientious of a child's feelings to be sure he feels comfortable and just like every other child. We are confident that she has his safety as a priority and couldn't ask for a better teacher.

We had a rainy first day of school so our 'first day of school' pictures didn't turn out very clear.
